Firelands is well under way so I wanted to take a moment to give you all an update on what's happening with GuildOx.
I have left the BWD/BoT/TotFW progress score in for the moment. However, these will be changing early next week - I plan to remove the BWD Heroic, BoT Heroic and all of TotFW scores from the progress calculations. Progress will be BWD/BoT Normal -> Firelands Normal -> Firelands Heroic. Note that this only changes the progress scoring - the associated achievements for heroic kills are not being removed.
There has been a little instability in the current ranking method. The old armory has been somewhat unstable with regards to Firelands kill data and this has made things difficult with regards to assessing the 10 vs 25 mode and timestamps of the kills. I have temporarily worked around this by dropping the threshold for assigning a kill and I have a plan in place to fix this for the long run - give me 48 hours.
What's happening with EU Firelands Rankings?
They are not yet implemented on the old wowarmory. Standby for more on this.
So which bosses should we be trying first?
According to our World Progress Stats, the two most popular starting bosses are Beth'tilac (spider) and Shannox (hunter). Both of them currently have an average iLvl kill score of around 363-364, suggesting that a guild which was previously doing T11 heroics should be more than capable of these new encounters.
If you want to see whether your character's gear is ready for Firelands then load them up via our Toon Rank service and mouse-over the pretty boss encounter icons on the right side of your profile. See an example of a very handsome dwarf.
How to update your kills
Finally, don't forget to manually submit your guild when you get a new boss kill. Our crawlers will get around to your guild over time, but you can speed this up and help keep the rankings up-to-date via manual submission - just be sure to have your raiders log out fist so that their armory profiles are updated.
Learn2Raid gives us a closer look at Alysrazor and Shannox - two of the first four outside bosses of the upcoming Firelands raid. You can choose any of these outside bosses to start your Firelands raid campaign.
Patch 4.2 is coming soon and it brings a lot of goodies with it, especially with regards to easy to get iLevel 365 gear. Here are a couple of tips to help you secure some epic gear within days of the Firelands release.
Thrall Quest Line
The following epic cloaks are the reward from a quest chain gained from Thrall in Mount Hyjal - if you are level 85 then you can pick up the breadcrumb quest from the boards in Stormwind/Ogrimmar. The quest chain should take under 60 minutes to complete.
Head to the Sanctuary of Malorne in Mount Hyjal and start doing the new dailies with the first quest. Spending three days doing these dailies will net you enough Marks of the World Tree to enter the Firelands portal to the Molten Front. Upon entering, you will be able to purchase the following epic items for under 200g each:
As special note: You need to be level 85 and have completed the Hyjal quests up to and including Aessina's Miracle to be eligible for the Molten Front daily starting quests. If you have not yet completed these then it is not too late to get started!
You will get access to many more rewards as you unlock more of the the Molten Front via the dailies.
With patch 4.2 coming very soon (probably 1 week away), I have taken the liberty of preparing GuildOx for the Firelands invasion. Here is a summary of all the new features added:
Firelands Progression added - I have added the boss kills, both normal and heroic to the raid progression system. Note that I plan to remove the T11 Heroics and TotFW from the progression calculation shortly after the Firelands release. Also note that our World Progress Stats will start to populate with the new raid bosses when the patch is released.
Firelands Raid Achievements added - All of the firelands raid achievements have been added to our achievement ranking system
Firelands Raid and Season 10 PvP Items added - Our Loot Rank service now has most of the firelands raid items and Season 10 items loaded up, including the new legendary staff. You can switch these on and off by selecting the Firelands Normal/Heroic check boxes in the item filter. More items will be added and their sources locked down once the patch is released.
Guild Moves - I have recently refined the method of tracking when people leave a guild and transfer off a server. More of these will now be shown in the guild "Moves" tab.
The latest patch notes have featured a major nerf to the T11 raid bosses, mainly in the form of a 20% health reduction. This is designed to allow more players to experience BWD, BoT and ToTFW, as Nethaera explains:
With the upcoming content patch, 10- and 25-person Normal mode raid encounters will be receiving a comprehensive set of tuning adjustments to decrease their difficulty.
These changes will allow players, groups, and guilds who have yet to experience the content in Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of the the Four Winds an opportunity to do so.
With the addition of a new tier of armor and weapons, we want to make the previous tier more accessible in ways other than just a shift of currency type, so we are making item level 359 gear purchasable for Justice points in the upcoming content patch.
